WHAT IS A FOLLICLE?

The tiny tubular sheath beneath the surface of the skin containing the organ which produces hair. Follicles producing hair on the head are often grouped together naturally and emerge from the same pore in the skin, sometimes up to five hairs at a time. All follicles and follicular groups are surrounded by an area of hairless skin.
WILL HAIR TRANSPLANTATION LEAVE A SCAR OR MARK?

No. With new techniques and with the skills of an experienced Plastic Surgeon, there will be no marks or scars in the areas from which the hair is taken, nor will there be any marks in the area of implantation. Plastic Surgeons have special training to perform aesthetic enhancements without leaving marks, for instance with facial surgery.
A consultation is the first and most important step towards arranging
your hair transplantation.
That is why you should make sure
any consultations you have are from
a qualified doctor, not prepared
by an office assistant.

The members of the Group of Independent Doctors are all experienced, independent, Plastic Surgeons. You will be able to have a free consultation with whichever doctor you chose. To find out more
about the Plastic Surgeons in the Group, click here.

When you contact the Group, we will help you put together all of the information the doctor needs for your Initial Consultation. The first step is to complete the Advice Form, which will give us some basic information. You may be asked for more details or to supply photographs so that the Plastic Surgeon can establish exactly how much hair you have which is available for transplantation, the density of the hair in the donor area and the area which you wish to have covered. You will also need to let us know your expectations - for instance the shape you would like to see for your new hairline, even the way that you wish
to brush your hair from now on!

When all of the information is complete, it will be sent to the Plastic Surgeon you have chosen. He will study your details and may ask you for more information, if needed, before he draws up a proposal and recommendations for your treatment.

His written recommendations will be sent to you, suggesting the best way to achieve your expectations, how much hair should be transplanted, which method or methods should be used and the costs involved.

With the Group of Independent Doctors, you can be certain that consultations will be unique, private and personal to you - not a standard company response prepared by an office assistant.

When you are satisfied with the proposed treatment, the next stage
is to have a Personal Consultation.
